In our discussion today, we begin to see some of the basic doctrinal differences between Baptists and Reformers directly resulting from the disagreement regarding the relationship between the Old and New Covenants. Many of these differences are very fundamental to the overall interpretation of the Scriptures concerning these doctrines.

The reformers believe that the sacraments are means of grace and a mystery of revealing the Lord to those who participate in them. Conversely, the Baptists maintain they are ordinances given by the Lord to be performed by believers for His honor and glory.

In a world that proclaims that truth is relative, we find that foundational principles of what one believes force him to hold to a world view, and that view is not relative. It is truth to him.
